In a Reddit AMA, 4A Games revealed that it may implement the latest and improved version of DLSS in Metro Exodus in the future. However, and before you start celebrating, there aren’t currently any plans for such a thing.
As a 4A Games developer said when asked about it:
“We may implement it in the future, but for now, no. There are some systems that we would have to rework in order to support the new priorities of the updated DLSS.”
The only game that uses the newly improved DLSS technology right now is Wolfenstein: Youngblood. This new DLSS tech is able to upscale the image from a lower-resolution, and provide an image that is almost as good as a native resolution. Moreover, it significantly improves overall performance.
Unfortunately, and given this response, you should not expect DLSS 2.0 in older games. As 4A Games claimed, it needs to rework some things in order to make it work. Therefore, it’s almost certain that other developers will not really bother with this new DLSS tech in their already released titles.
