AMD FSR 3.0 feature

AMD revealed only two new games that will support FSR 3.0 Frame Generation

Yesterday, AMD revealed only two new games that will support its FSR 3.0 Frame Generation tech. These two games are Like a Dragon: The Man Who Erased His Name and The Talos Principle 2.

AMD FSR 3.0 new games

This information comes straight from AMD. The following slide was shared during its CES 2024 conference, confirming the future title that will support FSR 3.0. Compared to the previous list we shared back in December 2023, the only new games that are in it are the two I mentioned above.

What’s interesting here is that there is no mention of Dragon’s Dogma 2 or Horizon Forbidden West Complete Edition. If these two games end up only supporting DLSS 3, we’ll be kind of mad. Both Capcom and Nixxes have implemented AMD’s FSR in their previous games. So, it makes no sense to skip FSR 3.0 in these new titles. After all, it should be relatively easy to add support for it. Or at least that’s what Nixxes stated a few months ago.

As I’ve already stated, FSR 3.0 is still nowhere close to the quality of DLSS 3. However, this isn’t an excuse to completely drop support for it. As of right now, only owners of the RTX40 series can enjoy DLSS 3. So, FSR 3.0 will be a good alternative for everyone else. And I know, you can use this mod to enable FSR 3.0 in games that have support for DLSS 3. However, that’s not an ideal solution. PC gamers shouldn’t rely on such mods.

Perhaps I’m also overreacting here. For all we know, Dragon’s Dogma 2 and Horizon Forbidden West Complete Edition may support FSR 3.0 at launch. We’ll just have to wait and see. Still, you’d expect AMD to include these games in its slide if that was the case.

The next “big” game that will support FSR 3.0 will be Like a Dragon: Infinite Wealth. This game will be released on January 25th, and it will also support NVIDIA’s DLSS 3. As such, it will be interesting to see how the latest version of FSR 3.0 will fare against DLSS 3.
