AMD will release its Ryzen CPUs on March 2nd, and below you can find the first gaming benchmarks. YouTube’s ‘Jarred Walton’ has captured footage from AMD’s Ryzen event, showing AMD Ryzen 7 1800X against Intel i7-6800K and i7-6900K.
The first video shows Battlefield 1 in which the AMD Ryzen 7 1800X runs faster – by around 5 frames – than the Intel i7-6800K.
In the second video, we see the AMD Ryzen 7 1800X running Sniper Elite 4 faster than the Intel i7-6900K.
The first system featured two Titan X in SLI, while the second system featured two AMD Radeon RX480 in Crossfire. As such, there wasn’t any GPU limitation in both of these games.
These first gaming benchmarks show what we all pretty much thought; AMD’s Ryzen CPUs appear to be able to match – and even surpass – Intel’s high-end CPUs at lower prices.
As we’ve already said, the embargo for the third-party benchmarks will be lifted on March 2nd, so stay tuned for more!

While he is a die-hard PC gamer, his gaming roots can be found on consoles. John loved – and still does – the 16-bit consoles, and considers SNES to be one of the best consoles. Still, the PC platform won him over consoles. That was mainly due to 3DFX and its iconic dedicated 3D accelerator graphics card, Voodoo 2.
