Perfect Dark is a classic FPS from Rare, the folks behind other awesome Nintendo games like Donkey Kong Country, Battletoads, and Banjo-Kazooie. It’s kind of like a follow-up to Goldeneye 007, which was a big deal for console shooters. And guess what? You can now grab an unofficial PC version of it for free.
This unofficial PC version of Perfect Dark is mostly working well. There are some bugs, but not any game-breaking issues. What’s most important though is that It has both the single-player and split-screen multiplayer modes up and running. Thus, you can enjoy the whole game without any major issues.
So, what does this PC version of Perfect Dark offer? Well, it’s got a lot to offer. Perfect Dark for PC lets you use your mouse to look around, works on widescreen monitors, allows for basic mods, and you can even change the field of view (FOV). Plus it runs smoothly at 60fps.
In order to play Perfect Dark PC, you’ll need its original Nintendo 64 ROM file. Once you have it, you can download the latest version of its PC port from this link.
The team behind this project has made some cool changes in its latest version. They added an extended menu for all the new settings and added a special key for crouching and kneeling. They also implemented blur effects, centered the HUD option, and improved the Xbox controller support.
This is a must-have for all our old-school FPS fans, and we highly recommend downloading it. Perfect Dark is an underrated FPS on Nintendo 64, so you can at least try it now on PC.
Speaking of unofficial PC ports of classic console games, we also suggest checking out these ones for WipeOut, The Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past, Jak and Daxter, Super Mario 64 and The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time.
Have fun!

While he is a die-hard PC gamer, his gaming roots can be found on consoles. John loved – and still does – the 16-bit consoles, and considers SNES to be one of the best consoles. Still, the PC platform won him over consoles. That was mainly due to 3DFX and its iconic dedicated 3D accelerator graphics card, Voodoo 2.
