We knew that Ubisoft has been working on the third part of this acclaimed series, but this is the first time they have admitted it. Yeap, Assassin’s Creed 3 isĀ under development. During an Ubisoft financials call, Yves Guillemot has stated that Ubisoft is working on Assassin’s Creed 3 and that it will be the ‘true next generation of both the Assassin’s Creed brand and interactive entertainment/storytelling in general‘ and that the game is slated for an October 30 release.
According to Guillemot, Assassin’s Creed 3 will be the biggest launch in Ubisoft history and that it will star a new protagonist. So, no more Ezio de Auditore for all Italian lovers out there. Moreover, Guillemot revealed that the game has been in development for almost three years.
We have no further details about it, but we can safely assume that it will be coming to current generation consoles, with a PC version following at a later date. Oh, and our guess is that it will be delayed as we haven’t received any additional info or media for it yet. Therefore, a 2012 release seems unlikely. Still, there is hope but we’d urge to hold your horses for the time being.
Stay tuned for more!

Still, the PC platform won him over consoles. That was mainly due to 3DFX and its iconic dedicated 3D accelerator graphics card, Voodoo 2.
