Yesterday, Ubisoft announced that Assassin’s Creed Mirage has gone Gold and that it will release on week earlier. So, the game’s new release date is October 5th. And, from the looks of it, Assassin’s Creed Mirage will be using the Denuvo anti-tamper tech and the VMProtect DRM.

Now I wouldn’t normally report on this. By now, most players should assume that every new Assassin’s Creed game will be using Denuvo and VMProtect. So yeah, Mirage is not exception to that. However, there was no point in just sharing the new release date tweet.
Assassin’s Creed Mirage is an homage to the series, and a particularly special tribute to the first Assassin’s Creed. Inviting players to immerse themselves in a magnificent ninth-century Baghdad at the peak of its Golden Age, Assassin’s Creed: Mirage will offer a narrative-driven action-adventure experience with a modern take on the parkour, stealth, and assassinations gameplay elements that have defined the franchise for over fifteen years.
From what we know, this new AC game will skip Steam at launch and will be available on Epic Games Store and Ubisoft Connect. And, for those wondering, Ubisoft has not shared yet its official PC system requirements.
Lastly, it’s worth noting that Denuvo introduced some additional stutters in Assassin’s Creed Origins. While our average framerates were similar between the Denuvo-free and the Denuvo versions of Origins, we had noticeably more stutters when Denuvo was active. Similar stuttering issues appeared in Tekken 7. Thus, let’s hope that the implementation of Denuvo in Assassin’s Creed Mirage will be at least better than that.
Stay tuned for more!
