Assassins Creed Origins -4

Assassin’s Creed Origins & Valhalla will now work with Windows 11 24H2

When Microsoft launched Update 24H2 for Windows 11, it broke compatibility with a number of Ubisoft games. To be more precise, Assassin’s Creed Origins and Valhalla could not run on the latest version of Win 11. Thankfully, Ubisoft has released patches that address these compatibility issues.

Steam will now download these small patches for these two titles. After installing them, you will be able to launch them on Windows 11 that have the Update 24H2.

I really don’t know how or why the Win11 Update broke compatibility with Ubisoft’s titles. We also don’t know what Ubi did to fix these issues. So, it remains a mystery what really happened with Update 24H2.

According to reports, Star Wars: Outlaws and Avatar may also suffer from stability issues on Windows 11. From what I know, Ubisoft has not released any patches for these two games yet.

Microsoft has advised PC gamers to stay away from the Update 24H2. At least for those who are currently playing Ubisoft’s titles.

Bottom line is that you are now safe to update to Version 24H2 if you play AC: Origins or Valhalla. If you’re playing Star Wars: Outlaws or Avatar, you should stick with the older version of Win11.

These compatibility issues are another reason why we haven’t upgraded the operating system for our main PC gaming system. Right now, the gaming performance on Windows 10 and Windows 11 is similar. In fact, games ran faster on Windows 10 prior to Windows 11’s Update 24H2. So, right now, Win10 is a more stable system. At least in my opinion.

Stay tuned for more!
