Assassin's Creed Shadows first screenshots-1

Assassin’s Creed Shadows delayed until February 14th, will be available from day1 on Steam

Ubisoft has announced that Assassin’s Creed: Shadows has been delayed until February 14th, 2025. According to the team, this delay will give the devs extra time to further polish it. Ubisoft claimed that this will help them avoid the the softer than expected launch they saw with Star Wars Outlaws.

What’s interesting is that there won’t be any early access for people who pre-order the game. Whether you pre-order or not, everyone will be able to play it on February 14th. However, if you pre-order the game, you’ll get the first expansion for free. In my opinion, this is a better bonus. After all, this isn’t a FOMO exploitation. So, kudos to Ubi for at least improving things.

Another interesting thing is Ubisoft’s new plan for PC games. For the first time in a while, Ubisoft will release its games on Steam from day one. This means that Assassin’s Creed Shadows will be available on EGS, Ubisoft Connect, and Steam at launch.

These two things are steps in the right direction. The question now is whether players will be interested in this new AC game. AC: Shadows has raised a lot of controversy. And, after what happened with SW: Outlaws, things may not look that good if the game does not perform well. Or at least as good as Ubisoft expects.

As the devs have stated, Assassin’s Creed Shadows won’t require a mandatory internet connection to play. In other words, it will be playable offline. However, it will have the Denuvo anti-tamper tech. As we’ve seen in the past, Denuvo can introduce some stutters to the games. So, will AC: Shadows suffer from stuttering issues?

And that is that. This delay is certainly interesting. So, I’m curious to see whether or not it will pay off.

Stay tuned for more!
