Ubisoft has officially announced the next main AC game, Assassin’s Creed Shadows. Assassin’s Creed Shadows will be released on November 15th, and below you can find its first details as well as its cinematic trailer.
Assassin’s Creed Shadows takes place in 16th-century Japan during the Azuchi-Momoyama era. Players will play as two distinct characters, a Japanese shinobi, Naoe, and a real-life historical samurai, Yasuke.
In Assassin’s Creed Shadows, you will live the intertwined stories of Naoe and Yasuke. Against the backdrop of the turbulent late Sengoku period, this duo will discover their common destiny as they usher in a new era for Japan.
The game promises to have spectacular castle towns, bustling ports, peaceful shrines, and pastoral landscapes. Ubisoft also claims that AC: Shadows will have unpredictable weather, changing seasons, and reactive environments.
Ubisoft has also shared the first set of in-engine screenshots. From what we know, the game will be powered by the AnvilNext Engine. So, these early screenshots should give you an idea of what you can expect from it.
The cinematic trailer gave me a lot of Shogun vibes. On one hand, this is a good thing. On the other hand, it felt more like Ghost of Tsushima, and not like an Assassin’s Creed game. Or at least that’s what I thought.
Ubisoft hasn’t shared any additional tech details about AC: Shadows. However, according to the latest rumors, we should get the first gameplay trailer next month. So, this gameplay trailer will give us a better idea of how this new AC game looks and plays.
Enjoy and stay tuned for more!
