Christofer Sundberg, CEO of Avalanche Studios, has revealed that his studio could have developed Star Wars: Battlefront 3. Avalanche Studios would be working closely with Lucas Arts for this new part in the Battlefront series. This deal was offered ten years ago, however Avalanche passed on it as it was busy with the Just Cause series.
The irony… We passed on developing Star Wars Battlefront III w/ Lucas Arts over a decade ago because we had our hands full on Just Cause plus that we wanted to develop original IP's. The dev budget was probably less than a banner ad costs today…

Even though Just Cause 3 had some performance issues at its launch, the game runs with constant 60fps on the PC right now. And that’s with all the explosions and the mayhem happening on screen. Naturally you need a powerful PC and the game does not appear to be taking advantage of six-core CPUs. However, it’s not as a CPU mess as Assassin’s Creed: Origins.
But anyway, a Battlefront game from Avalanche Studios sounds really cool. Sundberg did not reveal any additional details, but we’re pretty sure that it would featured lots of explosions.

Still, the PC platform won him over consoles. That was mainly due to 3DFX and its iconic dedicated 3D accelerator graphics card, Voodoo 2.
