Beamdog’s Trent Oster has revealed more interesting details about their upcoming enhanced edition of Baldur’s Gate. First and foremost, this new version will be coming to OSX and there will be multiplayer cross-platform support between Mac/PC and iOS devices. According to Trent, the team had a Mac, iPad and PC joined into a game together, which is pretty cool, right?
Oster has also revealed that there will be some new text only dialogue for original characters in Baldur’s Gate: Enhanced Edition, however they will be not adding new VO to those old characters.
What’s also really interesting is that players will be able to import their characters from Baldur’s Gate: Enhanced Edition to Baldur’s Gate 2: Enhanced Edition. In addition, the team is planning to add a cloud saving option, although it has not been officially confirmed yet.
Baldur’s Gate: Enhanced Edition is currently planned for a Summer release on Mac/PC and iOS devices!

While he is a die-hard PC gamer, his gaming roots can be found on consoles. John loved – and still does – the 16-bit consoles, and considers SNES to be one of the best consoles. Still, the PC platform won him over consoles. That was mainly due to 3DFX and its iconic dedicated 3D accelerator graphics card, Voodoo 2.
