Beamdog’s Trent Oster has revealed some interesting new details about the enhanced edition of Baldur’s Gate and their future projects. The team has announced that the game will be coming to iPad – suggesting that those earlier rumors for an iPad version were actually true – and will be compatible with all of its models. Yeap, Baldur’s Gate: Enhanced Edition will be compatible with iPad 1, 2, and 3. Moreover, the team is targetting for a $10 USD price, although nothing is certain right now.
Trent Oster has also revealed that the PC version will get an overhauled UI, alongside with some other improvements. More details will be unveiled at a later date but Oster hinted that those improvements will be quite noticeable. In other words, this is not simply an upscaled version of Baldur’s Gate.
Oster also said that Beamdog might do an enhanced edition of THE classic RPG, Planescape: Torment. According to Oster, the ‘ordering (and possibility) of future projects depends a great deal on the success of Baldur’s Gate: Enhanced Edition‘ and that the new content for Baldur’s Gate 2: Enhanced Edition will be ‘based on the success of this first game’. A big success obviously means more additional content to their next game.
Baldur’s Gate: Enhanced Edition is currently slated for a Summer release on iPad and PC!
