Last week, Sony held a new State of Play event in which it showcased a number of games. Among them were two titles that appeared to be console exclusives. Those were Ballad of Antara and Infinity Nikki. However, it’s been confirmed that both of them will also be released on PC.
Ballad of Antara is an open-world action RPG that targets a 2025 release date. The game will be powered by Unreal Engine 5, and its debut trailer looked amazing. However, it turns out that Ballad of Antara will be a free-to-play title. That’s a bummer as most of us were expecting a more “traditional” action RPG. So, will the game suffer from MTX? Or will it be a gacha game?
According to Sony, Ballad of Antara will have a single-player narrative and a multiplayer co-op mode. This co-op mode will support up to four players. Players will venture with their friends, or find other players to face challenges, including story quests, exploration, and intricately crafted dungeons.
On the other hand, Infinity Nikki is an open-world dress-up adventure game. In this title, players will be able to equip their main character, Nikki, with various outfits. These outfits will give Nikki unique skills and special abilities.
In Infinity Nikki, Nikki will travel with her friend Momo across Miraland’s extraordinary nations, each with a unique culture and history. They’ll encounter all sorts of people and creatures filled with creativity and whimsy. They’ll also be able to collect outfits of various styles. On their journey, Nikki and Momo will encounter special scenarios and puzzles to solve, and they will overcome various trials together.
As with Ballad of Antara, Inifnity Nikki will be using Unreal Engine 5. And, as you will see in its debut trailer, it looks lovely. The art style, in particular, elevates it from all other games utilizing UE5. And, although there isn’t any exact ETA on when it will come out, we can assume that it will be released sometime in 2025.
Enjoy and stay tuned for more!
