Subdued Software has announced that Battle Chess is coming to the downloadable universe in 2011. This classic Interplay game brought the standard chess board to life. Subdued Software will develop Battle Chess and bring it into the 21st century with stunning visuals and clever animations. Many Chess games have tried to mimic the originality of Battle Chess but none have come close to matching the acclaim of this groundbreaking title.
Battle Chess will feature turn-based Multiplayer, Battleground Training, 3 unique Battlegrounds, unlockable character battles, as well as achievements and trophies.
The game will be released later this year on PC and iOS platforms and could possibly be ported later in more platforms.

While he is a die-hard PC gamer, his gaming roots can be found on consoles. John loved – and still does – the 16-bit consoles, and considers SNES to be one of the best consoles. Still, the PC platform won him over consoles. That was mainly due to 3DFX and its iconic dedicated 3D accelerator graphics card, Voodoo 2. John has also written a higher degree thesis on the “The Evolution of PC graphics cards.”
