DICE and Electronic Arts have just informed us – via Battlefield 3’s Facebook page – that they will roll out new updates for their game that will affect PC, PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 players. As a result of that, there will be a maintenance at 2 AM PDT and will last until 3 AM PDT. During this maintenance, Battlelog and online multiplayer services for PC will be unavailable, whereas online multiplayer services for PS3 and XBOX 360 may experience intermittent issues over the hour-long period.
Unfortunately we do not know what these upcoming updates will fix or improve as Electronic Arts has not given any changelog.
On the other hand, the companies have recently released the R7 server patch. In case your server hasn’t been updated yet, make sure to restart it. This R7 server patch will be applied automatically only to the game’s servers and should not be confused with the client patches that can be installed on your machines, like pretty much every other patch for every other game.
Battlefield 3 is an amazing MP experience, although it is seriously plagued with issues. Let’s hope that DICE and EA will sort them out. Enjoy the following conquest multiplayer footage.

While he is a die-hard PC gamer, his gaming roots can be found on consoles. John loved – and still does – the 16-bit consoles, and considers SNES to be one of the best consoles. Still, the PC platform won him over consoles. That was mainly due to 3DFX and its iconic dedicated 3D accelerator graphics card, Voodoo 2.
