The Early Access phase for Battlefield 5’s open beta has begun and DICE has released a new patch for it. According to the release notes, this patch addresses the Squad Join issue that players have been experiencing, and activates the Spectator mode.
The game’s beta will be available tomorrow to all gamers worldwide, so it’s good knowing that these two features have been resolved/added prior to it.
Furthermore, this patch addresses the lop-sided team balance issues that some players have been experiencing. DICE does not have a solution for this yet (at the end of the match you will not be switched to the opposite side and you will have to quit and rejoin to potentially play as the other army), but a proper solution will be available when the game comes out.
This server update will roll out for all platforms today, and below you can find its complete changelog.
- Fixed Squad Join issue, allowing Squads join a match together.
- Activated Spectator mode.
- Addressed lop-sided team balance issues. Note: With this update, at the end of the match you will not be switched to the opposite side. You will have to quit and rejoin to potentially play as the other army. (We will have a permanent solution to this issue with the full launch of Battlefield V that will work as designed.)
