Rebellion has revealed the name, gameplay and launch window for its much anticipated remaster of Battlezone (1998) – one of the greatest sci-fi strategy titles ever made.
Launching on Steam for PC this Spring, Battlezone 98 Redux promises to keep the core rush of first-person action and RTS gameplay that earned widespread critical acclaim, and blends it with remastered visuals, online multiplayer and the potential for near limitless new content with support for Steam Workshop mods.
In order to ensure Battlezone 98 Redux remained faithful to the community, Rebellion enlisted the developers at Big Boat Interactive, who include three developers from the 1998 Battlezone game and played a key part in keeping the community alive for 18 years.
Enjoy the game’s debut gameplay trailer, and stay tuned for more!

While he is a die-hard PC gamer, his gaming roots can be found on consoles. John loved – and still does – the 16-bit consoles, and considers SNES to be one of the best consoles. Still, the PC platform won him over consoles. That was mainly due to 3DFX and its iconic dedicated 3D accelerator graphics card, Voodoo 2.
