The Black Mesa team has announced that all of the Xen and Gonarch’s Lair chapters will be coming to the beta branch of Black Mesa on August 1st. Not only that, but the team promises to release the remaining levels for this amazing remake of the classic Half-Life game in the coming weeks, something that will please a lot of PC gamers.
Going into slightly more details, the Black Mesa team claimed that it has already fixed a large number of the issues reported, and that in the next few weeks it will release the concluding chapters Interloper, Nihilanth, and Endgame to public beta.
What this ultimately means is that Black Mesa will be complete when the concluding chapters hit its beta branch, allowing PC gamers to play the entire game from start to finish.
As we’ve already stated, the levels and design for Xen are largely original work (with cues taken from Half-Life), rather than just simply a remake of Xen. This is why these levels have been under development for so long, and why the team decided to release them via small episodes in the beta branch.
All in all, PC gamers will finally be able to enjoy Black Mesa in its entirety later this Summer. Given the fact that the beta is currently really demanding in 4K, we may take another look at it when Black Mesa Xen leaves its beta phase!
