Yesterday, we informed you about an unknown countdown timer that appeared on the official Black Mesa website. Now we know that most of you are hoping for the Xen missions to be released, however this most probably will not be the case.
A couple of hours ago, the official Workshop for Black Mesa went alive, featuring seven maps.
This launch hints towards the promised release of Black Mesa’s Steam “retail” version.
The Steam version of Black Mesa will be powered by a new engine, described as a custom hybrid of several Source branches and features.
The Steam version of Black Mesa will also have upgrades, bug fixes and a multiplayer addon. Not only that, but any additional fixes or add ons after the initial launch can be done on the fly via Steam.
The Black Mesa team will unveil what this big surprise is tomorrow, so stay tuned for more!
