505 Games has revealed a new game from MercurySteam, the team behind Castlevania: Lords of Shadow and Clive Barker’s Jericho. This new game is called Blades of Fire, it’s a third-person action game, and you can find its debut gameplay trailer below.
Sadly, 505 Games hasn’t sent us yet a press release for it. Moreover, I can’t find any store page on Steam or Epic Games as of yet.
What’s interesting here is that Blades of Fire will come out on May 22nd, 2025. That’s almost two months from now. So, I don’t really know why we don’t have any other details for it.
Anyway, you can go ahead and watch its gameplay trailer. As you will see, Blades of Fire will have lots of blood. Players will also be able to cut off the limbs of their enemies.
I’ll be sure to update the story with more details once 505 Games sends us a press release. In theory, we should also get the official PC requirements soon. From what I can see, the game won’t require a high-end PC system.
Enjoy!
UPDATE:
Here are some more details about it. Blades of Fire is an all-new action adventure that takes you across a beautiful world full of uncertainty and challenge. Players will take on the role of Aran de Lira, firstborn of the King’s Ward.
The game will have a unique and challenging combat system. This will allow you to attack specific body parts of the enemy. As such, you can slash, stab or bludgeon enemies depending on the situation and what the enemy is equipped with.
In a way, this reminds me of Die by the Sword. This was an action adventure game that came out on PC in 1998. And, like Blades of Fire, it allowed you to cut the limbs of your enemies.
505 Games will release the game exclusively on Epic Games Store. In other words, it won’t hit Steam on launch day. So, I guess the game uses Unreal Engine? That’s the most logical assumption.
