Randy Pitchford has confirmed that Borderlands 3 will support cross-play. However, this won’t be a day-1 feature, meaning that it will be coming to the game via a post-launch update. This may disappoint some fans but we’ll be at least able to play with our friends – that obviously game on different platforms – at some point.
Some folks may be speculating that this thing tomorrow may be about cross play. Tomorrow’s thing is awesome, but *not* about cross-play. But, Good News: We are committed to supporting cross-play for Borderlands 3 with our partners as soon as practicable after launch. #talklater https://t.co/XtUzrBpySP

Randy Pitchford claimed that Gearbox is currently working closely with its partners to create a positive cross-play experience as soon as practicable. We are almost certain that Microsoft will not mind a cross-play feature between PC and Xbox One so it remains to be seen whether Sony will give Gearbox the green light.
To be clear, there will not be any cross-play functionality in Borderlands 3 at launch as we work closely with our partners to create a positive cross-play experience as soon as practicable. We are committed to cross-play on as many platforms as possible.

Borderlands 3 promises to be a hilarious, story-driven, non-stop galactic thrill-ride, filled with colorful characters, epic enemies and boss fights, and literally billions of guns.
The game will be timed-exclusive on the Epic Games Store, will release on September 13th and Gearbox has partnered with AMD for the development of its PC version. As such, you can expect Borderlands 3 to support AMD’s latest visual enhancement/feature that its NAVI graphics cards support, FidelityFX.
