Revolution Software has announced that Broken Sword – Shadow of the Templars: Reforged will come to the PC on September 19th. To celebrate this announcement, the team shared a new trailer that you can find below.
Broken Sword – Shadow of the Templars: Reforged is a complete remake of the original game. Players will join George and Nico on their exciting journey around the world. Players will visit the streets of Paris, the mysterious mountains of Syria, the sunny beaches of Spain, and many other beautiful places.
The devs have repainted all the backgrounds from the line art originally drawn by Don Blooth layout artists. Moreover, the sprites have been reanimated. And that’s not all. The audio has also been enhanced to bring new levels of fidelity to the speech and the legendary soundtrack composed by the late great Barrington Pheloung.
It’s also worth noting that the remake will have a new ‘story mode’. This story mode will dynamically balance narrative and gameplay progression to offer a stunning gameplay experience.
Charles Cecil, founder and CEO of Revolution Software, said:
“Point and click offers a simple interface from which captivating, challenging gameplay emerges. But the user experience has remained unchanged since the ‘90s when Broken Sword redefined the genre. Our research suggested that gamers now prefer a more contemporary experience. Broken Sword has a hugely passionate fan base, which runs over three generations. With these graphic and user experience enhancements, we look forward to hearing from fans once the game crosses over, once again, to a fourth generation who love narrative-driven games.”
Enjoy and stay tuned for more!
