Activision has just lifted the embargo for both Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 and Call of Duty Warzone 2. According to the publisher, both of these games will be using a new engine and will release later this year.
Activision claims that Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 & Warzone 2 are designed together from the ground-up. Moreover, Infinity Ward will be leading the development of these two new COD games.
Now while the publisher claims that these games will be using a new engine, we can almost assure you that it won’t be a brand NEW engine. Instead, it will be an evolution of the previous engine that MW 2019 and Warzone used. So yeah, that’s a PR marketing bullsh*t.
Call of Duty 2022 will be a sequel to Call of Duty Modern Warfare. On the other hand, Warzone 2 promises to be a massive evolution of battle royale. Additionally, it will have a new sandbox mode.
Lastly, contrary to some reports, it appears that both of these games will be coming to old-gen and current-gen platforms.
And that is that. Activision did not share any screenshots or a trailer for these two Call of Duty games.
