Call of Duty fans, here is something for you today. Modder ‘xoxor4d’ has released a demo of his RTX Remix Path Tracing Mod for Call of Duty: World at War. So, be sure to download it and give it a go.
This RTX Remix Mod is only compatible with the game’s Zombies Mode. To be more precise, it only works with the Night of the Undead Map, which is the first Zombies map you unlock. It will not work with its single-player campaign. Moreover, this is just a proof-of-concept demo. In short, it does not represent the quality of a full RTX Remix. Still, this is a cool way to re-experience Night of the Undead.
You can download the RTX Remix Mod from this link. Do note that you will also need this compatibility mod to make it work. At the end of the article, you will also find a showcase video. This video will give you an idea of what you can expect from it.
Surprisingly enough, COD: WaW looks great with this early Path Tracing Mod. The map now looks darker and more frightening than before. Not only that but there are some amazing GI effects when using the flamethrower. The mod has a lot of potential. So, here is hoping that xoxor4d will keep working on it.
This month, we’ve been giving you a sneak peek at several RTX Remix Mods that are in the works. As such, you can take a look at screenshots and videos for Tomb Raider 2, Grand Theft Auto: Vice City, Manhunt, and Dark Messiah of Might and Magic.
Speaking of Path Tracing Mods for older titles, you might also want to check out the following ones. Modders have released early demos for their Path Tracing Mods for Tomb Raider, Max Payne and Call of Duty 4. Do note that the COD4 Mod is a “proof of concept” demo, and it does not look that great. On the other hand, the RTX Remix Mod for Max Payne looks amazing (at least in my opinion). And then we have these Path Tracing Mods for Doom 2, Quake, Half-Life and Serious Sam.
Enjoy and stay tuned for more!
