Digerati and Greylock Studio have announced that a closed beta phase for their stunt-based FPS, Severed Steel, will begin on July 14th. This closed beta will last until July 21st, and PC players can sign-up now via the Severed Steel Discord.
The beta will include the following content:
- 10 campaign levels
- 10 arcade mode levels
- New game modifying ‘mutators’ (including ‘floor is lava’ and ‘dive into wall run’)
- New enemies (including jetpacks and flamethrowers)
Beta players will provide feedback, which will help inform the final stages of development ahead of the game’s launch later this year.
Severed Steel was one of the top 15 most downloaded demos during the Steam Next Fest event. Changes based on player feedback gathered during Steam Next Fest will be implemented for the beta build, including tweaks to movement speed, HUD, and weapon balancing.
Severed Steel will release later this year on PC.

Still, the PC platform won him over consoles. That was mainly due to 3DFX and its iconic dedicated 3D accelerator graphics card, Voodoo 2.
