Epic Games has announced that Remedy’s CONTROL is available for free on Epic Games Store for a limited time. From today and until June 17th, PC gamers can visit its EGS page and acquire their free copy.
CONTROL was one of the first games that took advantage of real-time ray tracing. Remedy used real-time ray tracing for reflections, contact shadows, diffuse global illumination and transparent reflections. Thus, CONTROL – alongside Metro Exodus – is still one of the best RTX games.
Control is powered by the Northlight Engine and is also using a new physics engine. Remedy took advantage of PhysX in order to enhance the game’s interactivity and overall destruction. As such, players will be able to interact with numerous objects and cause havok.
In March 2020, Remedy also released an update that added support for DLSS 2.0.
You can acquire your free copy from here.
Have fun!

While he is a die-hard PC gamer, his gaming roots can be found on consoles. John loved – and still does – the 16-bit consoles, and considers SNES to be one of the best consoles. Still, the PC platform won him over consoles. That was mainly due to 3DFX and its iconic dedicated 3D accelerator graphics card, Voodoo 2.
