Crimson Desert is a game I’m really looking forward to. However, according to a new report from InsightKorea, this new single-player game has been delayed until 2025.
Now since this does not come straight from the mouth of the developers, we suggest taking it with a grain of salt. However, since the game does not have a specific release date, it does sound plausible.
As the report reads (via Google Translate as the report is in Korean):
“The release date of ‘Crimson Desert’ will be postponed by a year from the existing Q2 of 2024 to the 2nd quarter of 2025, reflecting the neutral level, but the cumulative sales volume, including related early quarter sales, will be determined based on global user feedback from the released in-game video.”
Crimson Desert is a new game where you will explore a massive fantasy world. In this game, three tribes are going to war for control of the Pywell continent, and it’s a fight for survival. The game’s development is led by Jason Jung, who used to design games like RYL Online. He’s working with Dae-il Kim, the founder of Pearl Abyss, and Eter Lee, who knows a lot about making action combat systems from his work on RYL Online and C9.
In July 2021, Pearl Abyss indefinitely delayed the game. As of now, the game doesn’t have any release date. Reports and rumors suggested that it was targeting a Q2 2024 release. However, and according to this latest report, we may not see it until 2025.
The latest trailer we have for Crimson Desert is its Gamescom 2023 trailer. That trailer featured 3 minutes of gameplay footage from it. And while it has been in development for a while, the game still looks incredible.
Before closing, InsightKorea also reports that DokeV has been delayed until 2026. DokeV caught everyone’s attention when it was initially revealed in 2019. And, contrary to Crimson Desert, we haven’t gotten any trailer for it since 2021. So yeah, don’t expect to be playing it anytime soon.
Stay tuned for more!
