Crimson Desert new feature

Crimson Desert targets a late 2025 release date

Last week, we got a 7-minute gameplay trailer for Crimson Desert. And at TGA 2024, Pearl Abyss revealed the game’s release window. So, Crimson Desert targets a late 2025 release date. Now that’s a bummer as it will be almost a year until the game comes out.

Crimson Desert will depict realistic characters and narratives that revolve around the members of the Greymanes fighting to achieve their noble mission. Players will experience the beautiful yet brutal continent of Pywel, where you will witness the conflicts and epic sagas surrounding Kliff, the leader of the Greymanes, as his mission takes him on an unforgettable journey.

The game will be using Pearl Abyss’ own engine, the BlackSpace Engine. And overall, the game looks great. From what I can see, there is also no downgrade. However, by today’s standards, Crimson Desert is not as hot as it was back in 2020. That was four years ago. To its credit, Pearl Abyss was able to match the quality of its early demos. Still, the game’s lighting feels a bit dated nowadays.

On the other hand, I really like its combat mechanics. Crimson Desert started as an open-world MMORPG. During development, though, Pearl Abyss pivoted and made it a single-player game. And, to be honest, I’m glad it’s no longer an MMORPG.

And that’s it. The game also now has a store page on Steam. Still, that late 2025 release window is a stinger. Let’s at least hope that the game will be worth the wait. And hey, until then, numerous PC games will be released.

Enjoy and stay tuned for more!
