Criterion Games is currently working on the latest NFS part, but did you know that the company – that was made known to most gamers for its Burnout series – is interested in creating a new Black or Road Rash game? That was revealed in an interview with Guardian by Criterion’s creative director Craig Sullivan.
As Sullivan said:
“When we did Burnout Paradise we did some motorbike DLC and now everyone thinks that we’re going to do Road Rash at some point. I had a lot of fun playing that game, we think bikes are fun. We might make a Road Rash game…. But then we might make a game without vehicles in it. I mean, we made Black, I was the lead designer – we might make a game about blowing the crap out of each other!”
Sullivan has also added that Road Rash is a good fit for Criterion and promised that there will be a new Burnout game at a later date.
Below you can find a prototype video from a Road Rash game that was under development five years ago and might give you an idea of what a modern-day Road Rash game could look like.
Need For Speed: Most Wanted is currently planned for a November 2nd release on PC, X360 and PS3!

While he is a die-hard PC gamer, his gaming roots can be found on consoles. John loved – and still does – the 16-bit consoles, and considers SNES to be one of the best consoles. Still, the PC platform won him over consoles. That was mainly due to 3DFX and its iconic dedicated 3D accelerator graphics card, Voodoo 2.
