Great news for console gamers as Devolver Digital has just announced that Croteam is currently working on the console versions of Serious Sam 3: BFE. Both Devolver and Croteam haven’t revealed any possible release date or the platforms in which Serious Sam 3 will be ported. Devolver stated that Croteam is working on Serious Sam 3 for consoles, and since WiiU is nowhere to be found, we can safely assume that it will come to both PS3 and X360.
As Devolver tweeted:
“Our friends at @Croteam are working on Serious Sam 3: BFE for consoles but no news on release dates quite yet”
Expect an official announcement soon, though it may take a while as Croteam is also working on the next PC patch of Serious Sam 3. In case you were unaware of, Croteam is a small studio, and although they had expressed their desire to port the game to consoles, they have been solely focused – all this time – on the PC version. In other words, this is the first, official confirmation that Serious Sam 3 is in development for current generation consoles.
Serious Sam 3: BFE was one of the most optimized PC games of 2011 and featured gorgeous graphics. Therefore, it will be really interesting to see how the console versions will look like.

While he is a die-hard PC gamer, his gaming roots can be found on consoles. John loved – and still does – the 16-bit consoles, and considers SNES to be one of the best consoles. Still, the PC platform won him over consoles. That was mainly due to 3DFX and its iconic dedicated 3D accelerator graphics card, Voodoo 2.
