Last month, we informed you about something really ‘cool’ coming from AMD. Our guess back then was that the red team was creating a new tech demo, and it appears we were right. Crytek has published a PowerPoint presentation on its official website, in which it describes how they were able to create this new tech demo.
Although the demo has not been revealed yet, PCGamesHardware has managed to capture some bits from it. Ironically, this footage reminded us of the Epic’s Samaritan tech demo.
Not only that, but Epic collaborated with Nvidia for the Samaritan demo, whereas Crytek collaborated with AMD for the Phoenix tech demo. Now that’s the definition of a strong battle.
This project is described as a showcase of real-time next-generation graphics running on AMD Graphics Core Next architecture.
Let’s hope that AMD will release the raw video of its tech demo sooner than later.
Enjoy!

While he is a die-hard PC gamer, his gaming roots can be found on consoles. John loved – and still does – the 16-bit consoles, and considers SNES to be one of the best consoles. Still, the PC platform won him over consoles. That was mainly due to 3DFX and its iconic dedicated 3D accelerator graphics card, Voodoo 2.
