Crytek has just shared a tweet in which it clearly hints at Crysis 2 Remastered. Now while this is a small hint and nothing more, we’ve decided to share it because some of Crytek’s internal documents have already leaked Crysis 2 Remastered and Crysis 3 Remastered.
In case you’re wondering, that phrase is from the beginning of Crysis 2.
To be honest, I wasn’t a big fan of Crysis 2. I also don’t expect this remaster to have major improvements over the game’s DX11 PC Ultra Upgrade. We might get some additional ray-tracing effects, but I’m almost certain that the character models will remain the same. Contrary to the first Crysis game, Crytek had already released an HD Texture Pack for the PC version of Crysis 2. Not only that, but modder MaLDo has released an amazing mod that overhauls the game’s visuals.
In short, I expect Crysis 2 Remastered to look a bit better than Crysis 2 modded. After all, that’s exactly what happened with the first Crysis game. And, to its credit, Crytek has addressed a lot of the issues we mentioned in the PC Performance Analysis of Crysis Remastered.
