Crytek has officially announced that it is working on the fourth installment of the Crysis franchise (which has the working title “Crysis 4”). In order to celebrate this announcement, the team released a CG trailer that you can find below.
Crysis 4 is still in a very early development stage. As such, you should not expect to be playing it anytime soon. My guess is that it will take Crytek 4-5 years in order to release it (and that’s my optimistic scenario).
As Crytek stated:
“As development progresses we will release more details when we can. But in the meantime, know that our dedicated and talented team is working hard to bring you a truly next-gen shooter.”
Ironically, Crytek has ruined one of our April Fools joke articles. Back in April 2019, we said that Crysis 4 was in development and that it would be an Epic Games Store exclusive. And while the game won’t be using Unreal Engine (obviously, duh), we successfully predicted everything else.
Enjoy and stay tuned for more!
