Cyan has just announced that it is working on an official remake of Riven, and released an announcement teaser trailer for it. This teaser trailer does not show anything, so don’t expect to see any in-game footage.
Riven will be a modern remake, similar to the Myst Remake. In this remake, players will be able to traverse the game’s environments in 3D.
Although Cyan did not reveal the engine used for this remake, we can assume that it will be Unreal Engine. After all, Myst Remake used Unreal Engine 4.
There is currently no ETA on when Riven Remake will release. Cyan has not also revealed the platforms for which it will come out. Again, though, we can assume that PC will be one of them.
Enjoy the teaser trailer and stay tuned for more!
