DayZ is an amazing mod for ArmA 2 and as we’ve informed you last week, a standalone version will be developed by Bohemia Interactive with Dean Hall as the project leader. DayZ has already hit one million gamers and ironically, the standalone version of this ArmA 2 mod won’t initially support mods.
When a fan asked whether the standalone version of DayZ will support mods, Dean ‘Rocket’ Hall responded and said in Reddit:
“Not initially.”
We can assume that DayZ Standalone will support mods at a later date, but nothing is certain at this point.
Let’s hope that Bohemia and Dean Hall won’t ‘lock’ this game to the modding community!

While he is a die-hard PC gamer, his gaming roots can be found on consoles. John loved – and still does – the 16-bit consoles, and considers SNES to be one of the best consoles. Still, the PC platform won him over consoles. That was mainly due to 3DFX and its iconic dedicated 3D accelerator graphics card, Voodoo 2.
