THQ Nordic has announced during its quarterly financial earnings report video presentation that Dead Island 2 is still under active development. The publisher claimed that the game is still worked on and that everyone should stay tuned for more details and news about it.
Although nothing has been confirmed yet, our guess is that THQ Nordic will soon reveal more details about it. We are not certain whether this will happen during E3 or Gamescom, however the publisher has already a lot of games that have not been announced or revealed yet. A couple of days ago, THQ Nordic stated that it has 80 games in development, of which 48 titles are currently unannounced.
The last time we heard about Dead Island 2 was back in 2018 when its official Twitter account claimed that the game was still alive. Dead Island 2 was originally developed by Yager who was dropped from the project in 2015.
The first gameplay footage for Dead Island 2 was unveiled in 2014 and I’m pretty sure that the game does not look anything like that. Still, it will be interesting to see whether its new developer aims to build on what Yager had developed back then or whether it has made a completely different game.
Stay tuned for more!
