A lot of STALKER 2 fans were disappointed by its latest Gamescom 2023 gameplay trailer. You see, the game did not look as polished or as good as its initial E3 2021 trailer. Yes, the downgrade was obvious. However, GSC GameWorld insists that it still plans to make STALKER 2 look as good as its E3 2021 trailer.
In an interview with IGN, GSC Game World’s public relations manager, Zakhar Bocharov, claimed that the game is now content complete. Bocharov also claimed that the studio is still targeting to make the game look as good as its E3 2021 trailer. The studio still believes that “it can pull this thing off, realise its ambition, show the world what it’s truly capable of.”
It will be interesting to see whether the final version of STALKER 2 will come close to what GSC GameWorld initially showcased. And yes, we can safely say that the E3 2021 trailer was an in-engine target trailer and not an actual gameplay trailer. In other was, GSC GameWorld faked the entire thing.
