According to the game’s Steam page, an issue was found that caused some users to be unable to start the game on specific machines. Specifically, the presence of older ATI/AMD drivers, also on machines with NVidia hardware, would cause the game to crash on startup. This patch is a hot-fix for that particular issue. On top of this, it also increases the number of save-slots from 20, like on the PS3 and Xbox 360 versions, to 99. As with most patches, it will be auto-downloaded next time you start the Steam client.
In addition, we really have to let you know of an easter egg at the game’s credits. This easter egg will please all those Deus Ex hardcore fans out there, so make sure NOT to press ESC at the end credits. We could provide you with some hints, but we don’t want to spoil the surprise. One thing is for sure though; you will be awarded.
Deus Ex: Human Revolution is already out in US and will be released in a few days in Europe. We’re also preparing a performance analysis for you that will hopefully go live this weekend. Oh, and in case you’re wondering then yes… Deus Ex: Human Revolution is by far the best game of 2011 – well, at least so far.

While he is a die-hard PC gamer, his gaming roots can be found on consoles. John loved – and still does – the 16-bit consoles, and considers SNES to be one of the best consoles. Still, the PC platform won him over consoles. That was mainly due to 3DFX and its iconic dedicated 3D accelerator graphics card, Voodoo 2.
