Blizzard has confirmed that Diablo 4 will feature cosmetic microtransactions. While the team does not plan to put any gameplay features behind a paywall, gamers will be able to purchase cosmetic items.
As Blizzard’s Joe Shely, lead designer of Diablo 4, told Quin69:
“So, Diablo 4 will be available as a base game, and as I said we’re going to have expansions. We also will be able to acquire cosmetics in the game through.”
In other news, Blizzard wants to support cross-play between all platforms. The team claimed that there are currently technical details and details to work through with the first parties. Still, and if everything goes well, Diablo 4 will support cross-play between PC, PS4 and Xbox One.
As Diablo 4’s executive producer Allen Adham said:
“We’re very excited about cross-play. There are technical details and details to work through with the first parties, but it’s our goal to get to cross-play.”

Still, the PC platform won him over consoles. That was mainly due to 3DFX and its iconic dedicated 3D accelerator graphics card, Voodoo 2.
