Blizzard has confirmed – during an Activision earning call – that Diablo III will get a new expansion pack. Although there is no ETA yet, Blizzard has already plans for the expansion and wants to polish it before releasing it. Classic Blizzard. In addition, the company has confirmed that StarCraft 2: Heart of the Swarm will hit stores in early 2013.
Blizzard’s Mike Morhaime had this to say about Diablo III’s expansion pack:
“We do have an expansion planned for Diablo, [but] I don’t have any timeline to talk about. I think the most important thing for us always comes down to the quality of the expansion and the gameplay, so that will be a big factor in terms of driving our schedule.”
In other news, Bobby Kotick stated that Diablo III has managed to ship over 10 million copies, and $841 in net revenue during Q3 2012.
Furthermore, the release of Mists of Pandaria has helped World of Warcraft to reclaim the sweet ‘spot’ of 10 million subscribers. On its first day, Mists of Pandaria has managed to sell – around – 3 million copies.
