Grindstone has announced a new one-hit kill sword fighter that is inspired by Bushido Blade and Way of the Samurai, Die by the Blade. Die by the Blade uses Unreal Engine and will be coming to the PC in 2020.
Die by the Blade promises to take realism in sword fighting to the modern spectrum. Learning from the originators of the genre, the aim is to refine a fighting experience into a golden standard of gameplay that keeps evolving as the game develops.
In addition to skill centric 1v1 setting, the game aims to explore different player amounts, styles, and environments. The goal is to create challenging progression system tied in with unlockables and items to show off your status. Multiple characters, swords, and clothing options will be added to the game during development. On top of this, the team may add a roguelike adventure mode as future content.
In order to celebrate this announcement, the publisher released the game’s debut trailer. This trailer features in-game visuals and unfortunately it does not look that “wow-ish”. I mean, it’s looking good, however, it will not impress you with its visuals. As such, I really hope that its gameplay will make up for the lack of mind-blowing graphics. After all, we never got Bushido Blade on the PC.
Enjoy!
