Refract has announced that they’ve decided to use Steam Early Access as the next step in the development of their experimental survival racer Distance. As the press release reads, the game will be available for download on Early Access this Fall, and Refract plans to announce the official release date in the coming weeks.
Distance was recently released as a private beta on Windows, Mac, and Linux to over 6,000 backers last month after 2 years of development.
Distance aims to fuse the intense action of arcade racing with the exploration of a mysterious world.
The private beta currently features a short single player campaign, as well as additional split-screen and online multiplayer modes such as Sprint, Reverse Tag, Stunt, and Soccer.
Distance also includes a powerful level editor which is connected to Steam Workshop.
Refract has also released a new trailer for its racer that can be viewed below.
Enjoy!
