Modder ‘bifurcator_x’ has released his highly anticipated mod for Doom 2, Doom Slayer Chronicles. Doom Slayer Chronicles is described as the most technologically advanced mappack for Doom 2 singleplayer, and is compatible with all known gameplay mods for Doom 2.
According to its description, this mod takes advantage of the newest features of gzdoom, such as hardware shaders, full-screen post-processing, PBR textures (normals and specular maps, also often called “bump mapping”), high-resolution textures, and dynamic lighting.
The full version of Doom Slayer Chronicles packs GZDoom engine 3.5.1 x64 Modern (minimum supported version), the basic HD textures and DSCmaterialPack featuring PBR materials for basic HD textures Those with weaker PC systems can use DSClowResTexturesPack (DOOM-standard resolution textures) and DSClowResMaterialPack featuing PBR materials for low resolution textures.
Needless to say that this is a mod that most Doom fans should download and test. Those interested can download it from here.
Have fun!
