Doom: The Dark Ages is a game that a lot of PC gamers are looking forward to. However, it appears that the game will be using the controversial Denuvo anti-tamper tech.
This comes as a surprise since Indiana Jones and the Great Circle did not use it. So, not only will Doom: The Dark Ages cost more than the previous Bethesda game, but it will also now use Denuvo.
id Software has also revealed the PC requirements for running the game at Ultra 4K with 60FPS. According to the devs, PC gamers will need an AMD Ryzen 7 5700X or Intel Core i7 12700K with 32GB of RAM and an NVIDIA RTX 4080 or an AMD Radeon RX 7900XT. You can find the game’s minimum and recommended PC requirements here.
For what it’s worth, Bethesda is one of the publishers who has removed Denuvo from its older titles. For instance, the publisher has already removed it from Wolfenstein Youngblood, Ghostwire: Tokyo and Doom Eternal. Thus, a post-launch update – one year from now – will most likely remove Denuvo from Doom: The Dark Ages.
Bethesda plans to release Doom: The Dark Ages on May 15th. As we’ve already reported, the game will support Full Ray Tracing/Path Tracing on PC. We can also assume that it will support DLSS 4 and Multi-Frame Gen. Thus, it will be interesting to see whether it will be enjoyable on the RTX 5090 at 4K with Path Tracing and DLSS 4 X4.
Enjoy and stay tuned for more!
