Valve announced today that the beta phase of DOTA 2 is officially over, and that this free-to-play title is available to everyone starting today. As Valve hinted, in order to ensure the best possible experience for new and existing players, there may be a short wait for you to download the game. “Well screw this, I’m going to download this right now” most of you will say so go ahead and get it from Steam.
DOTA 2 is a competitive game of action and strategy, played both professionally and casually by millions of passionate fans worldwide. Players pick from a pool of over a hundred heroes, forming two teams of five players. Radiant heroes then battle their Dire counterparts to control a gorgeous fantasy landscape, waging campaigns of cunning, stealth, and outright warfare.
DOTA 2 was created by the same team that developed the original DOTA game, and it will be interesting to see whether it will be able to top League of Legends or not.

Still, the PC platform won him over consoles. That was mainly due to 3DFX and its iconic dedicated 3D accelerator graphics card, Voodoo 2.
