It appears that Electronic Arts may be working on a new open-world Star Wars game. According to a job listing on EA’s site, the big publisher is looking for a Lead Online Engineer who will lead a team to deliver online features for a Star Wars Open World project.
Our guess is that this Star Wars project is the re-imagination of Visceral’s cancelled Star Wars game. As the job listing reads, the Lead Online Engineer will design, architect and implement the Online infrastructure for the Star Wars project while working with industry-leading central technologies.
So, other than its open-world nature and the fact that it will feature online capabilities – like EA claimed when it shut down Visceral Games – we don’t know much about this new Star Wars game.
Back in October 2017 when EA shut down Visceral Games, the big publisher stated that it will shift the game to be a broader experience that allows for more variety and player agency. The game will still be using the Frostbite Engine and its development team will reimagine central elements of the game to give players a Star Wars adventure of greater depth and breadth to explore.

Still, the PC platform won him over consoles. That was mainly due to 3DFX and its iconic dedicated 3D accelerator graphics card, Voodoo 2.
