Rumor alert everyone, it appears that EA will reveal the new Star Wars game, Star Wars Project Maverick, on June 2nd. Star Wars Project Maverick will be a smaller scaled Star Wars game that will feature a multiplayer mode.
But let’s take things from the beginning. On May 27th, VentureBeat’s Jeff Grubb shared a schedule of games announcements. In that schedule, Grubb listed Mel Gibson for the June 2nd announcement. Now in case you didn’t know, Mel Gibson was in a movie called Maverick.
Then, Jason Schreier claimed that EA Motive Montreal is about to announce a new game. Schreier has also confirmed that this game is the new Star Wars game.

Jeff Grubb then replied to Schreier’s with a video from Top Gun Maverick.

Now if we connect all these dots, we can assume that Electronic Arts will reveal Star Wars Project Maverick on June 2nd. Naturally, this is just an assumption at this point so take it with a grain of salt.
From what we know so far, Star Wars Project Maverick will not be a VR game. The game first appeared on PSN so it will be interesting to see whether this is a Playstation exclusive or a multi-platform game.
