Yellow Brick Games just revealed its first game, Eternal Strands. This is a third-person action adventure game, inspired by Shadow of the Colossus and Monster Hunter. The team has also shared its first trailer. So, check it out to get a glimpse of what it’s all about.
This trailer packs pre-alpha gameplay footage. As such, it does not represent the quality of the final product. Still, it can give you a glimpse at the game’s art style.
Yellow Brick Games is comprised of Bioware & Ubisoft veterans. And, Eternal Strands is its first game which will come out on current-gen platforms.
In this game, you can use the environment and temperature to help you fight against cool creatures, like using a dragon’s fire against icy enemies. You can climb anywhere and use special magic to make new paths. You’ll explore the world to uncover secrets and take on huge titans as you go.
Eternal Strands promises to have a next-gen physics system. The devs say it will encourage and reward player creativity. As such, exploration and combat will be better than your average game. Like, you can use magic powers to make bridges, burn stuff blocking your way, or even catapult Brynn all over the place. It sounds interesting, though it remains to be seen whether the devs will be able to hit their goal.
As said, Eternal Strands is inspired by Shadow of the Colossus. As such, you can expect to fight some huge enemies. You’ll be able to leap onto and climb their massive forms to attack from different angles. So, you’ll have to either shatter their armor or slice at weak spots to diminish their protection. You can also use your magic abilities to weaken them. For instance, you can use ice to pin limbs of a towering foe, arcane flames to burn their fur, or catch lobbed projectiles and turn their attacks back upon them.
