As promised, CCP Games has launched a free-to-play version of EVE Online. This free-to-play version will let players – by becoming Alpha members – train and use a specific set of skills to fly some of the most often-used ships into battle – Tech 1 frigates, destroyers, and cruisers.
Alpha members will have at their disposal 21 ships, and there will be a standard training speed, as well as a 24 Hour skill queue.
This free-to-play version of EVE Online will let Alpha pilots explore the breadth of the universe as they fly alongside hundreds of thousands of other players from around the globe to explore, dominate, and evolve the massive virtual universe unbound by starter zones or server instances.
EVE Online also gives players the ability to become Omega members. Omega members act similar to previous active EVE characters, and they are granted unlimited access to skill progression and rapid skill training.
Those interested can go ahead and start downloading EVE Online from its official website.
Have fun!

Still, the PC platform won him over consoles. That was mainly due to 3DFX and its iconic dedicated 3D accelerator graphics card, Voodoo 2.
