Ubisoft has just launched the official website of their upcoming FPS title, Far Cry 3. The website currently features some videos, as well as a synopsis of the game. It also features a pre-order button for those interested in pre-purchasing the title. Ubisoft promised to update the website with new content in the coming weeks and according to them, this is the place where more news and updates on Far Cry 3 will be posted first.
Development on Far Cry 3 is led by Ubisoft Montréal with the support of Ubisoft Shanghai and Massive Entertainment. Yeah, it’s the same studio that was behind World in Conflict so we are really curious to see how they’ll influence this new part of the Far Cry series.
With Far Cry 3, players step into the shoes of Jason Brody, a man alone at the edge of the world, stranded on a mysterious tropical island. In this savage paradise, where lawlessness and violence are the only sure thing, players dictate how the story unfolds, from the battles they choose to fight to the allies or enemies they make along the way. As Jason Brody, players will slash, sneak and shoot their way across the island in a world that has lost all sense of morality.
Far Cry 3 is coming on Playstation 3, Xbox 360 and PC in 2012.

While he is a die-hard PC gamer, his gaming roots can be found on consoles. John loved – and still does – the 16-bit consoles, and considers SNES to be one of the best consoles. Still, the PC platform won him over consoles. That was mainly due to 3DFX and its iconic dedicated 3D accelerator graphics card, Voodoo 2.
